1.4.1 Alpha 1 for BB controllers

1.4.1 Macros Update ALPHA 1

This is the first release version of firmware 1.4.1

This is test firmware. As with all test/alpha/beta software, DO NOT INSTALL unless you like to be on the bleeding edge and can live with potential bugs.

Alpha 1 adds:

  • NEW: Saving the configuration file will save any Macros loaded (saves to compressed file)
  • NEW: Loading compressed file will restore settings and Macros
  • NEW: Ability to select multiple gcode files to delete rather than having to select each one before clicking the trash can button.
  • New: Sort files via date or name

Thanks for the update! I was able to use backup, then reset my macros, then restore the backup and the macros came back and still worked! That’s a very helpful change!

I was also able to create and delete folder, both with and without files. I also uploaded a folder of files and it worked fine. The new dropdown sorting features also seemed to work well, and seem very useful.

I can see how the new multi-delete feature could be useful for cleaning up, but the workflow seems a bit click heavy (4 clicks) when I want to just delete the current file the old (2 click) way. Maybe it’s just me, but I frequently re-upload variations of the same project-operation.gcode multiple times while trying to dial in settings. It’s easier to delete the file on the spot then dig through the new filter/menu. It’s also worth nothing the mousover on the delete icon still says “Delete current GCode program”. I’d think the new functionality deserves it’s own new icon for multi-delete.

One feature request would be after running a macro the previously selected file in the dropdown should remain selected instead of getting set back to no file selected.

Thanks for the continued work on the firmware!

on yeah, and one more important note for Chrome users, when I clicked to download the backup file, chrome prompted me to “keep” the download file. (screenshot below) If I weren’t paying attention I may have missed that prompt and assume my backup had downloaded even though it didn’t since the old .json backup files didn’t have this file download confirmation like the new .zip files. I know this is completely out of our dev control, but it might be worth noting.
