I second this one!

It would be nice to see full doc management features in the web UI, like drag-moving files between folders, renaming, etc. Bigger ask, but would be handy.

I tried using the folder mgmt that’s in the WebUI today. I created a new folder and was successful in adding files to the folder using drag & drop from File Explorer. I was also able to move files from the default gcode folder into my new sub-folder by dragging within the left pane of the WebUI file manager. All good.

Then on the machine I went to load it using the HMI Files screen. The subfolders I created in the WebUI don’t show up.

So I created a folder in the Files screen on the HMI. It doesn’t show up on the HMI. But it does show up in the WebUI. Rebooting doesn’t change anything - the folders still don’t display on the HMI.

I applaud them for their quick turnaround on implementing changes, I just wish they’d test them more as part of a workflow.

I’m reminded of a programmer who worked for me once. We had an insurance claim system. He was implementing the ability to pay medical bills. When he declared it done, you could enter all the information to make the payment, it would make all the accounting entries and he was very proud of having completed the change so quickly. I asked “how do I print the check?" [This was before e-payments were a thing.] Ummm, nope, can’t print a check. He hadn’t connected it to the check print process. He had built and tested everything without thinking about the user’s total workflow.

Feels like the same thing here. “We built the ability to create folders and put files in them, you mean you want to be able to use those files on the machine?" 😵‍💫
