I am new with 1F but have had a Shark 4 for a few years. After homing the machine I load the file (simple grid) and I get the Y is over and the X is under the soft limits. I don’t know what to do.

Over/under on non-elite controllers and soft alarm on elite controllers mean the same thing, so the below principals apply to all machines. Many new users to the Onefinity CNC often get the machine unboxed, assembled, and moving in a few minutes without ever needing to look at instructions. But then they home the machine and are alarmed when their screen looks like this: (Left picture is non-e…

I should give you more information, after homing I load the file and then probe XYZ, it’s then I receive errors regarding the X & Y soft limits being greater or lesser than 0.00mm and the file won’t run. This happens everytime I have tried to run a file.

Are you receiving the error when attempting to probe or after probing has completed?

> _ **If** _ you have created a g-code toolpath of your own, uploaded and selected it in the machine, and probed or manually set workpiece zero coordinate, then this error tells you that your g-code toolpath wants the machine to mill outside its workarea, which will in no case go. In this case, either your 3D model is too big, or you’ve probed or set manually your workpiece zero coordinate in the wrong position.

Please be aware that if you have a virtual 3D model that is nearly as big as the workarea of the machine (like a wasteboard flattening toolpath or a wasteboard grid toolpath), you got to probe or manually set your _workpiece zero_ **very exactly** where it is on the model. A shift by few mm already would make that you intend to mill outside of the machine’s workarea and produce the error you mention.

It is wise to look at the simulation of your toolpath file after having probed of manually set the _workpiece zero_:

- If connected from remote, the [camotics.org](http://camotics.org/) **3D toolpath simulation** is displayed before and the moving cutter while the program runs:

Image: The 3D toolpath simulation is displayed if the Onefinity Controller is opened in a web browser on a remote computer.

The blue box is the machine’s workspace. Everything outside of this will produce a limits error. The white box is the space where your loaded g-code toolpath program indends to mill. Green lines is where the machine will mill with given feed rate, red lines are where the machine will move rapidly.
