Okay, everyone, let’s each do a short intro, so we all know where the others are experience-wise. I’m 61 and have always been interested in making things, but only in the last few years have I started getting at all good at it. The Shopbot Handibot was my first CNC router, and I learned a lot from that machine. I currently have a Shaper Origin, a 3d printer, and a Glowforge laser cutter, as well as most of the standard shop tools. I’m no super maker, but I am always happy to help anyone who is new and wants to learn. My order # is in the 300’s so most of you will have yours before me. ---

Right where do I start, the Onefinity will be my first CNC. So starting from the beginning with everything that involves it. Got to find and learn a design program. Spindle or router? What bits to use? Woodturning is my main route but realised CNC has other advantages and electronic wiring is my daily work. Based in England and waiting till October to receive my Onefinity but all good things come to them that wait ---

Hobby woodworker here, primarily cabinets and custom furniture items for my wife or close friends. Started out in woodworking on and off 50 years ago, but started getting more interested about 20 years ago when I was able to start purchasing some major tools (table saw, planer, jointer, etc.). Retired 10 years ago and able to spend as much time as I want (as long as I get my wife’s other projects done) on woodworking. Having a blast! New to CNC, got interested after seeing a demo at a Woodcraft store. Started researching, ran across Ben Myers’ videos, and started following the Onefinity. Wasn’t ready to pull the trigger when preorders were announced, but when they reopened for some additional machines, couldn’t resist! Now trying out several design programs trying to decide which one to focus on and start learning so I can be ready to play when my OF finally arrives! ---

New to CNC; my hands are too sore from dremel carving stars, so took the plunge! Excited to be able to increase my product line with the versatility a CNC router brings. #445 here, so will have a few more gray hairs before my machine arrives! Looking forward to exchanging ideas and tips with all of you!! ---

Hobby woodworker and metal. Currently have a carvewright machine its ok, but don’t like the proprietary programs and parts for it. I currently have a a precision matthews mill that’s been converted to cnc that I make tool bars for carbide wood turning tools. Carvewright is limited to what you can do and stuff that i want to make will not fit on it going to buy one of the other two brands till i found this one. ---

Ed here. I am a Tool & Die maker, worked on injection molds and several years as a model màker. Have my own shop on the side. Retired working full time at my job the last eleven years as a CNC glass cutter making shower doors. Finally December 2019 finished my x-carve . ---

Novice woodworker here, but I’ve been a tool and die maker for close to 20 yrs programming and operating CNC mills every day, so getting one for home seemed like a no-brainer. I’ve had some past success with making custom lighting at modern maker fairs. I’m looking forward to designing and building modern furniture and home decor with the onefinity. Excited to see how great this machine runs. ---

Currently have a Maslow CNC, and ready for a smaller unit with better accuracy and control, so I preordered a woodworker. Plan to use Fusion 360 for most projects. #70 ---

I am Clinton / Clinket. I am new to woodworking. I have always been a jack of all, master of none. : ) I spent most of my life as an industrial mechanic / Millwright in the steel making industry. doing whatever was needed. Welding fabricating, Pipefitting, Electrical, relay timer based control, hydraulics, Turning wrenches, troubleshooting equipment, but primarily fixing stuff that ain’t workin right. : ) I am looking forward to learning and sharing with everyone here. ---

Kevin here. Order #163! Owned two sign shops for 25 years and sold them three years ago. After the sale, got my builders license and currently doing home remodeling projects. Have been working with wood my entire life, but this will be my first Woodworking CNC. Have worked with Adobe Illustrator for years and plan on using Fusion 360 after designing in illustrator! Already ordered and received my water cooled spindle (same one Ben Myers has for his machine). Can’t wait to make some sawdust and use this forum for lots of help! ---

Erin here. I own a high end automotive in interior shop in southern Missouri called Ruddymade interiors. Until now I have created everything I make with conventional wood working tools. This cnc will be used to create more detailed parts in my interiors. Looking foward to learning how to use this machine to up my game . I work mainly with composites and aluminum occasionally wood so I hope this machine will be good. Hello All! We recently bought a house in Richmond, VA. After traveling in the RV for three years unharmed, I broke my little desktop CNC while setting it up in my new basement workshop. Hubby took pity on me and said go large! My research luckily led me to Onefinity and my machine will be here just in time for my Birthday in October. I am super excited to get back to work. I plan on expanding from projects for friends and family to more advanced sales opportunities! I look forward to seeing everybody’s creations!!! ---

Rich from Greenville, SC here. This is my first CNC machine, but I have been an Engineer for over 25 years and have plenty of modeling experience, and a good familiarity with CNCs. I have enjoyed woodworking as a hobby for years as well. Looking forward to learning and seeing what I can create. ---

Jake here from East TN, I’ve worked in manufacturing Maintenance for 20+ yrs, before that I was a mechanic on a sub. I currently work on high speed SMT (circuit board) manufacturing equipment. I’ve wanted to build my own CNC for years and had started collecting parts to do so, but life happens and it was put on the back burner. I was almost ready to buy a shapeoko after watch so many people create awesome projects. I’ve followed Ben’s channel for a while and when I saw his divorce from shapeoko and the ball screw driven Onefinity I knew this was the direction to go. Looking forward to being in on this from the start, cant wait to learn from all of you CNC veterans. ---
