# How to get more clearance from a 65mm spindle

I am trying to figure out how to get past the clearance on the Z hieghth with a 65 mm spindle
I am wondering because everyone says that the 80 mm adapter you won’t have that problem is that only with the larger spindle or can I use a 65 mm spindle in their with the plastic adapter enlarge the 65 to an 80 that get the clearance or will it still hit the motor

80mm mount with a 65mm adapter(for now) is what I use. No clearance issues at all.

Thank you sir at the risk of sounding like a nuisance, that is with the 65mm spindle, 80mm adaptor and the 65mm sleeve, I rather ask twice and purchase once…

Correct!
3D printed the adapter myself.
Z20 slider with the 80mm mount, 80x65mm adapter, 65mm air cooled spindle.
