I saw somewhere that installation of the 4th axis rotary is the same for all machines, but I am switching the rotary from the Masso machine and bringing it over to the redline machine. Does that mean I have to take out the fourth axis wiring from the Masso and wire it inside the redline machine? I thought the plugs were different. Where does the rotary plug into the controller? and where is the manual for this? Is it a separate manual from the redline controller manual? I need to get going on this and I am stumped at the moment. if I do have to undo the wires from the Masso I would rather purchase an additional wiring harness than undoing the wires from the Masso because I may someday want to get a second rotary for the Masso as well. Onefinity please advise.

Robert,

It looks like you’ll need one of these if you don’t have one in your stack of bits and bob’s w/your Gen-2:

Well, I got the terminal blocks today and wired up the new cable. Thank you Onefinity. It was really easy to do. 4th axis revolution lifting mechanism works great. I will check out how to make it go around and around tomorrow. 🙂 I still have to assemble the vac system and then hookup the spindle and tool setter and maybe the ATC. I am not sure if I will be taking it from the Masso or buying an additional one. I know it too has a different cable to connect to the redline but I already have the cable for that.

You may want to wait to move the ATC over until they finalize the software for it?

Reading another post that RealtimeCNC was active in, it looks like they’re hoping to release 1.5 next week, or at least a public beta.

Doesn’t seem like it would be a long wait, but if you’ve projects reliant on the ATC, probably better to keep it up and running on the Masso for now. If experience has shown me anything even though the software is coming soon, there will probably be a bug or two to smash before it can be used in production.
