My grandson is getting married this spring and I want to make something special for him and his fiance. Looking for ideas!

Looking to do the same for my nephew.
I don’t have any great ideas yet.

One might be a small plaque with their names and the date as a simple reminder, which might help him remember 30 years from now 😅

You can do either a plaque or something like that with their names with “Established date” on it.

A cutting board with their names and wedding date, inlayed in contrasting wood. They will use it everyday and remember you as long they have it.

I created a two-tier, 12-inch diameter, round charcuterie board that rotates/pivots on a #8 machine screw to reveal utensil storage underneath. Here’s the link to my Vcarve .crv file:

[Dropbox: Round Charcuterie Board CRV](https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/pudoqvncqm93pk4cwkkks/12in-304mm_RoundCharcuterieBoard_v03b_JessicaKeith.crv?rlkey=cp2le1i8xo5onck8sj1yhrwp3&dl=0)

The board is red oak with their names and date inlayed with walnut, and is based off of a similar design, made from bamboo, sold on Amazon ([https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088ZM72GN](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088ZM72GN?tag=benmyers-20)).

I made two of these in total so far, the photos below are for the second one to my nephew and niece, whereas the link to my Vcarve file was for my neighbors. The photos below show a failed version that I kept (for posterity) where I accidentally drilled through the top of the board when attempting to make the hole for the pivot screw.

I managed to find a 12-ish sized width board (3/4 thick) of red oak which prevented glue up, and I originally had this design as a 10-inch version but trying to fit the utensils was a tough squeeze.

For the wavy part of the bottom board, which is attached to the underside of the top board as a pivot stop, this was done freehand using a jigsaw and applied using glue and two wood screws followed up with plugs.

Notes:
Primary bits used were
Whiteside SC70 carving liner bit
Whiteside 1570 pointed roundover
1/4" end mill

You can order a set of utensils from Amazon here: [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B6P8VPC/](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B6P8VPC/?tag=benmyers-20)

What a beautiful thought to create something special for your grandson and his fiancée—it’s such a heartfelt gesture that will surely be cherished! Weddings really make you reflect on relationships, don’t they? They’re a reminder of how profound it is to find someone you connect with so deeply that you want to share your life with them. I often wonder, how do people manage to find that one person who feels like home? Is it fate, timing, or maybe just taking chances and meeting new people? For anyone still searching, putting yourself out there and exploring connections can open doors you never expected. It’s a journey that’s as unique as the love you’ll eventually find.

I made a custom charcuterie board with their names and wedding date engraved; added carved floral corners to make it special. It was quick to make and they loved it.

I made a custom walnut stand with carved names and wedding date that holds a [digital picture frame](https://www.nixplay.com/)
. The frame plays a loop of photos from the couple’s relationship and can be updated later through USB. It’s been a hit—looks great on a mantle and adds a personal touch. I used the Onefinity to cut the slots and engrave the text, made the whole thing in a weekend.
