Of course. But what is HPDE?

A typo.

Sheesh, a little slack would be nice.

Couple Christmas gifts for cousins. I’m still in process of finishing them.

Been slowly advancing this project forever, but tonight it finally takes its place by my bedside! (It’s mis-matched twin has already spent a year by my wife’s side of the bed.) These are my his & hers (mis)matched wet/dry night stands. Full of screw ups & lessons learned, maybe that’s part of their charm?

Very nice! I’ve been thinking about making one for my great granddaughter. Did you buy the pattern or come up with your own?

Thanks!

Made a bunch of ornaments with the revolution out of scrap cedar and pine

I bought the pattern on Etsy. It took some modifications, but was pretty straightforward. I’ve made several rocking horses from my own plans and ones from others.

Not affiliated, but this is the plan I started from.

Look what I found on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1785406147/antique-1890-rocking-horse-wood-toy?ref=share_v4_lx

I’ve had mixed success with their plans, but this one was close. I added mortise and tenons to their design and carved the bit instead of separate pieces. (My daughter described their airplane rocker as a flying capybara).

that looks amazing! How many hours of sanding went into the top?!

Thanks! Not as much sanding as I’d feared, since I used a tiny stepover with a little tapered ball, the surface was pretty nice right off the 1F. Ironically my bigger issue was that the surface was resolved so well the small planar facets of the computer model stood out. I wasn’t going for a low poly look, so the sanding was mostly to smooth those edges out. Probably a couple of hours sanding the top, all told.

Love the Micky and Mini Mouse nest

Really big gavel. Made from dark walnut. Head made on my lathe, it measures 5-ish inches in diameter and 10 inches in length. The handle was made on the 4th axis, it measures 27 inches in length.
