Beautiful. What’s your method for the delicate sanding?
Simply using cloth backed paper torn in various width strips depending on need coverage. 60 to 600 grit then light 3000 grit after finish is fully cured.
Made this for a friend son. He’s visiting Disney twice this week for the first time. He’s dressing up as captain Jack Sparrow for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. I thought he could start a Disney trading pin collection.
Yes, other than the profile cut, the whole carve was done in one pass with the 1/16 TBN. The carve took about 5 or 6 hours if I’m not mistaken, which is cool with me because this method eliminates the tool marks left behind when the bit changes directions and after swapping out bits. 5 or 10 minutes of sanding compared to 1 or 2 hours is great also.
Also, sorry I replied to your question 14 months later, LOL!

He want one side for ‘show’ and the other side for go (cutting surface). One condition on the show he wanted both wood and epoxy inlays. So Hard maple with Osage Orange and the epoxy work
Could you share the Fusion 360 file for the tree sculpture?
