Okay, I’m beginning to get my feet wet (well . . . moist anyway) after reading through a number of very informative posts by many of you (and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!), so I now understand that I have some options for creating code that will work with my 4th axis rotary, without having to mortgage my home to pay for Fusion’s manufacturing extension.

Once I receive and install my 4th axis rotary, I will likely find myself pulling out the remaining few hairs I have left on my head, and posting here begging for help to get started. I hope you will all have patience with me.

I am very grateful for this Onefinity forum, and for the incredibly knowledgeable people who so freely share their knowledge and experience with everyone here. I’d be lost without this!

Okay, I’ve finally installed my Onefinity 4th axis rotary. As I mentioned, Fusion doesn’t permit the creation of rotary tool paths unless one is willing to mortgage one’s house to pay for the upgrade. So I took my design and successfully imported it into Freecad. But after several days of watching YouTube videos, I am no closer to understanding how to create a rotary tool path. If anyone can suggest an easier way to move forward, or can direct me to how to create a tool path with Freecad, I would be immensely grateful!

I should mention that I have looked into deskproto, but it will cost me close to $400 for a license if I go that route.

Also, I almost forgot to ask: does anyone have simple gcode file that I could use to try out my rotary axis to make sure it’s working? Maybe something I could use a 2” by 2” piece of stock to machine? It could be just a simple dowel or any simple design. Thank you in advance!

The Vectric file Buildbotics version, Vectric.ngc looks like .nc file that I generate in F360 and the description tells me I can run it on my Woodworker (Buildbotics). However, I still want to confirm if that is the case.

And I see similar .ngc file on the new FileFinity site and assume that the rule applies to them as well.

Thanks,

Khalique

I discovered it using AI. ChatGPT reviewed the file and provided the explanation and conclusion. I can safely use .ngc file on my 1F BB.
