# Speed control dial does nothing on VFD (SOLVED) & VFD wiring

Hey Jay,

I was in error when I said that I did not read the manual. It seems to be the same VFD as in [this thread from the other day](https://forum.onefinitycnc.com/t/huanyang-vfd-to-controller/8589/16). The manual, is it identical to [this one](https://www.omc-stepperonline.com/download/VFD%20manual%20datasheet.pdf)?

If yes, have you set F002 to 3 and F001 to 0?

**First of all,** have you set the mandatory settings according to your spindle manual:

1. Rated spindle voltage
2. Rated spindle current
3. Number of magnetic poles of spindle
4. Maximum spindle speed
5. Minimum spindle speed
