# The y-axis suddenly changes to zero

Hey yiseounglee,

it is likely that something obstructs the movement. There can be different causes for this. [See here for details](https://forum.onefinitycnc.com/t/home-is-not-working-correctly/18647/3).

One cause could be that should your machine not be properly [rectangular (“squared”)](https://forum.onefinitycnc.com/t/what-do-i-do-first/18349/6), the Y movement can block.
