# Touch probe for ONLY X and Y

Is it possible or is it something in the works to JUST probe X and Y?
My reason for asking is because I like to use the probe, but when I use the spoilboard as my Z I end up setting the Z twice.

From your question, it is assumed you are using the BB controller as the Masso already has the x, y and z separated. With that said, I imagine you could, if using one of the latest BB firmware versions, program one of the macro buttons-functions to only probe x and y.

Correct I’m using the BB controller and just last night updated to 1.4.2 I was able to figure out how to create 3 different macros to move my machine to a 3 specific location like clear to back right, but I’m not sure how to set a code to get the probe feature to work. I’ll have to look into it some more. Can you show what that might look like?

See the **Jul 12 post by rriker** in this thread [Macros Files for BB | Official Thread - #33 by jakasspeech1](https://forum.onefinitycnc.com/t/macros-files-for-bb-official-thread/25091/33). He has posted some gcodes for use as macros. There was an older post with probing gcodes but I’ve not been able to locate it yet.

PS: I forgot, you’ll have to remove the portions of g-code for probing Z
