# What type of carving/engraving operation?

Hi All  
I am looking to use a v-bit on this logo. I don’t want to cut along the lines of the text you see in the image. I’d rather “hollow out” in between the lines so that each letter is depressed into the stock and I can fill with colored epoxy. What type carving operation is this? I’m going to use Carbide Create for the cut as I’m not sure if I can with my Meshcam.

If your plan is to fill with epoxy, then a pocket path is the way to go with the smallest endmill you have. Then finishing up with a VBit along the edges to tighten the corners.

It’s a simple vcarve toolpath in VCarve.

Thanks. I figured it out and made the carve.  
Now I just need to figure out how to get my spindle to spin up before the machine begins carving.
