How Do I Get Filefinity Access If I Bought My Onefinity Secondhand?

How Do I Get Filefinity Access If I Bought My Onefinity Secondhand?

If you purchased your Onefinity CNC secondhand, received it as a gift, inherited it, or acquired it in another way without purchasing directly through www.onefinitycnc.com, you may notice that you don’t automatically have access to Filefinity.

First, there’s nothing wrong with your machine or your Onefinity account.

It simply comes down to how Filefinity verifies access.

Filefinity Is Connected to Your Onefinity Account

Filefinity and www.onefinitycnc.com are connected.

When you sign in, Filefinity checks the Onefinity system for a qualifying order associated with your account. That order number is what allows the system to verify that your account is eligible for Filefinity access.

When someone purchases a Onefinity directly through www.onefinitycnc.com, that verification happens naturally because the purchase is already connected to their account.

With a secondhand machine, the situation is different.

The machine may now belong to you, but the original purchase was made by someone else. That order remains part of the original purchaser’s order history and does not automatically transfer when the physical CNC changes owners.

As a result, Filefinity has no Onefinity order associated with your account to verify.

“But I Own a Onefinity. Why Don’t I Automatically Get Access?”

We understand why that can seem confusing.

The issue isn’t whether your Onefinity is “real enough,” whether we support secondhand machines, or whether we value customers who purchased used equipment.

It’s simply that Filefinity needs a reliable way to verify accounts automatically.

The physical machine itself cannot tell Filefinity who currently owns it. Machines can be sold, gifted, traded, inherited, moved between businesses, or change owners multiple times.

An order associated with your Onefinity account gives the two systems a consistent way to identify and verify the person requesting access.

How Do I Get Access?

If you received your Onefinity without purchasing it directly through www.onefinitycnc.com, you’ll need a qualifying order associated with your own Onefinity account.

Make sure you use the same email/account information for your Onefinity purchase and your Filefinity account so the systems can correctly connect the two.

Once an eligible Onefinity order is associated with your account, Filefinity can verify that order and provide access.

If you’re unsure whether an existing order on your account qualifies, contact the Onefinity team before creating another account or attempting to use someone else’s order number.

Why Can’t I Use the Previous Owner’s Order Number?

Onefinity order numbers belong to the customer account that originally placed the order.

Sharing or transferring that order information could create problems with account security, purchase history, warranties, customer records, and other services connected to the original purchaser.

Keeping each customer’s access connected to their own account protects both the original owner and the new owner.

Buying Used Is Still a Great Way to Join the Onefinity Community

There are plenty of Onefinity machines that will continue making projects for many years and may have more than one owner during their lifetime.

We’re glad to see those machines stay in shops and continue being used.

Filefinity verification isn’t intended to discourage buying a used Onefinity. It’s simply the method that allows Filefinity and the Onefinity website to securely identify accounts and provide the benefits associated with them.

Once your own account has the required qualifying order, the system has what it needs to recognize you.

Already Have an Order With Onefinity?

If you’ve purchased directly from www.onefinitycnc.com before, make sure you’re signing into Filefinity using the account/email associated with that order.

If you believe you should already have access but Filefinity isn’t recognizing your account, contact Onefinity support so the team can help determine why the order isn’t being detected.
