Hey Ed, I should be getting my qcw and machine sometime this month. I know you are busy setting up your machine but could I buy the feet from you so I will have them when my table gets here. You can email me at: al.lopez@yahoo.com letting me know how much and form of payment. And also where you got your casters from. Thanks.
I made something kind of similar for my x35 with the rolling folding stand. In my situation, I needed those castors more for levelling because my setup is in my garage and has a slight slope, and needed it level for my epoxy projects. I found the wobble too distracting and lost the castors.
Sorry for the delay. Printing them is going to be a challenge for me but there is a vendor associated with this group that has expressed some interest in producing them. The 3D print does need some validation (the threads seem ‘tight’ and needed chasing) but that should be fast to resolve.
I hope to have confirmation shortly.
With regard to the casters, I bought these: https://a.co/d/bVDNgTr
I paid $60 per (price varies week to week). They are also available from different vendors on Amazon. I even see them on homedepot’s site.
Google: FOOTMASTER GD-80S-BLK-1/2
Please let me know as soon as possible - i am really interested in buying them. Was that $60 per caster or the set of 4?
The price is $60 per caster. That may seem expensive but the quality is VERY high and they are rated well over the capacity we are asking them to bear. There is a less expensive verson (the GDR-60S-BLK) that saves you about $10 per. They should be fine as they are also rates for 550lbs.
I thought the extra $10 was trivial.
I have spoken to Dan (PwnCNC) and he is going to print these and have them for sale. He’s ordered the casters for himself and is going to test the print and the caster. You should have a response soon.
Thank so much brother, really appreciate it. Will probably go with the casters you suggested. Looking forward to hear from Dan soon.
By the way, i hope you were able to solve the issues with your new machine. Let me know how you like it…
You’re welcome. I do like the new machine; it’s a very solidly built platform and deserves to have the title of ‘best in class’. My frustration comes with the lack of documentation and a solid setup guide. The videos are helpful but they do leave gaps.
Hey Ed,
but you know that on the Official Onefinity Home Page there is the Documentation on the “Support” page, where you can find the
Furthermore, here you find the
I ask this because many users come here with questions but are not aware that there are:
- The Fine manuals (PDF)
- The “Standard Series Assembly Playlist”, the “Support” Playlist and the “Elite” Playlist (including Assembly video)
- The FAQ documents provided by the manufacturer.
Also the users of the Standard Series Onefinity Controller or the interested forum reader got to know that the Onefinity Controller Manual only describes the functions of the user interface, but the detailed manual that includes all technical details, and in the most aspects applies to the buildbotics-derived Onefinity Controller, is the Buildbotics Manual v1.0. It’s an older Buildbotics manual (Buildbotics evolved a bit further [1], [2]), but it corresponds to the state of the Buildbotics controller when Onefinity forked it.
Yes. I downloaded all of those.
The example of ‘gaps’ is that homing seems to be an issue for me. Also, the machine seems to get ‘stuck’ on homing (“wait for homing” (or something like that).
Another example is I spend hours trying to troubleshoot CCW rotation of my spindle when it turns out the spindle is not capable of CCW as it has been disabled. One could argue that it’s not 1F fault (it’s a PwnCNC spindle) but these companies are working together.
Look, it’s a brand new platform and there will be bugs/processes to work out; i get it. The challenge for a new CNC user is it’s challenging to know the balance between ‘real’ machine issues and user incompetence (i have plenty of the latter)
It would be helpful if they seperated the Buildbotics from the Masso information too as I find myself starting to learn about an approach only then to realize it’s for the old platform.
Thank YOU for your continued efforts here, your hyperlinks and logical layout of your responses is much appreciated
I had homing issues as you describe, my main problem was the B homing sensor was set to High State instead of Low state in the F1 set up tab, woth checking
Thanks, Pat
Hey Ed,
There seems to be a problem with your machine, I think it is best to contact support@onefinitycnc.com in those cases.
when a VFD is used for a motor in a CNC router, a reverse operation is not to expect. And I already heard that people wondered what user error they made that it milled so bad, because it was accidentally running counterclockwise. So usually on programming for this type of use, reverse operation is disabled. For what do you wanted to use a spindle on a CNC router running in the wrong direction?
Yes, but it cannot be the duty of a CNC manufacturer to teach you CNC machine milling. It’s a profession that takes three years in my country.
Yes, but they didn’t know three years ago. They now made two different top categories, but who would have the time to sort the thousands of older posts into one of those It’s the same when the VFD/Spindle top category was created: Hundreds of post are not in that category because it did not exist the first two years.
But you can assume that 99.5% is about the buildbotics-derived Onefinity Controller, because as of this writing, it’s only a short time since the first Elites were delivered.
And there are also many posts that are neither Original nor Elite specific, but general to the rest of the hardware, or general to the CNC topic.
Always glad to help!
Are you still going to make the file available to forum members?
Mike, I will send it to you as you reached out earlier.
From now on though, I am going to suggest that members reach out to Dan as he’s going to refine the model
I am interested as well any word on when Dan at PNW CNC will be “rolling” them out? I am definitely interested!!
Thanks
As a total newbie I must agree with everything you said from a great machine to lack of documentation, how-to’s, and help videos
I go to Masso for items related to the G3 control , there is a lot of info there.
Thanks, Pat
For those of you waiting for inserts for the casters, my apologies. I know Dan PwnCNC was planning to make some. In the interim, Nick (Solafide, maker of the Nighthawk boot) has kindly offered to step in and make them (so I don’t keep getting friendly private messages)
Nick has re-engineered the design and improved it with additional strengthening cross braces and ribs. They take a lot of material and time to print, so I think he needs to work out cost.
I will suggest he posts info here (or I can)
Cheers
Thanks! If anyone has a question don’t hesitate to reach out
Nick,
I know you were working on improving on the design, do you have anything done? Would be great to see your ideas
Yes Sir….
I want four how do I get in on it?
