Macros Files for BB | Official Thread

After further thought my post above is really not Bit to Laser…it is how to use the Jtech 64w crosshairs to line up on the material origin point!

So I’m going to have to rename the macro “Laser starting point”.
Still very useful.
Sorry about the mislead…

glad the macros were a helpful starting point for you! I agree, finding non-confusing concise names for them is difficult!

Once again thanks, Using a sheet of paper taped on the table, the spindle with a sharp V point marked a spot, and the laser under a low power marked a spot. The caliper measured distance between the two gave me the information to complete your macros!

You’re welcome, William, glad that worked. Here’s another way to let the machine help you measure the X and Y offsets without a caliper

  1. zero all axis offsets with the laser over your test material.
  2. briefly fire the laser to make a spot. S1 M3 (or whatever [S]peed your laser starts firing) Then quickly hit STOP (or M5) to turn off the laser after the mark is made.
  3. use the screen or gamepad to manually jog the V-bit point as close as possible to the center of the spot marked by your laser.
  4. write down the X and Y Positions from the screen. those are your offsets

Yes, much better way of figuring offsets…this round I made sure the laser was mounted perfectly square to the table.
