Redline controller IOT documentation issue

I found an issue with the IOT Relay documentation at Connecting an IoT Relay - RealTime CNC Documenation Hub but I can’t find a way to send feedback so trying here.

Step 3 has:

3. Wire the Terminal Block Connectors

Locate the DB-25 breakout adapter and open the shell to expose the terminal block connections.

Connect the red wire to pin 12 (OUTPUT1+).

Connect the black wire to pin 13 (OUTPUT-).

The picture is connecting to pins 11 and 12, not 12 and 13.
Going to the Inputs & Outputs page it has:

11 Output 1- Isolated output 1 negative
12 Output 1+ Isolated output 1 positive
13 Isolated Ground Ground reference for inputs, probe, and PWM

Looks like the red wire should still connect to pin 12, but the black wire should connect to pin 11, not 13.

I would like to see confirmation on this from redline/ Onefinity before I try it.

The outputs are solid state relays which effectively act like a switch so the positive and negative do not matter. We originally labelled them as +/- just to differentiate them, but I can see how it could be misleading. I will look at updating their labels to something like OUTPUT1A and OUTPUT1B.

In terms of connecting the IoT relay, you can hook the output up either way and it will work.

The issue I’m trying to point out is not the + to - sides, it is the text says to connect to pin 13 and it should be to pin 11. I found this because I wired it up like the text and it would not work. Moving the wire from 13 to 11 worked.

My initial wiring is to include an additional remote switch to bypass the controller so I can turn on the vacuum easily. Without knowing more about the internals, I had the IOT piece replaced with a relay coil and the switch would bypass the relay contacts. It was not working, so ripped out everything and wired up directly like the diagram without changing the DB25 and it still did not work. This is where I figured out the pin had to change based on the picture and then referencing the output diagram to match OUT1+ and OUT1- instead of OUT1+ (which is just one side of a switch) and Isolated Ground.

Thanks. It looks like the photo in our article was correct but, as you pointed out, the text above it was incorrect. I have updated it to say pin 11 instead of pin 13. Thanks again for pointing that out.

P.S. It may take up to 5 minutes for the changes to the documentation website to propagate to all the servers.
