The 2 I boxed up and forgot to drop in the mail to you this morning are 50mm, below the now deleted 3mm lip.
I had a few minuets to try the shim that mrkrag printed for the DeWalt 611.
With my duck tape shim the top of the router hit the Z slid at the bearing. This pushed the top of the router forward resulting in the bit tilted back. With a flatting bit installed the front of the bit cut deeper then the back. Running a flatting pass resulted very deep ridges. (Shown in bottom have of the test piece of MDF)
With the printed shim installed the router cleared the Z slider.
When running the the flatting pass on the top of the test piece no deep ridges.
mrkrag for the win!!!
Good to hear!
I made changes between printing the ones you got and sending them. The newest iteration is shorter, rimless and has the slot to the right. There are lines on the top surface to help “clock” it to the mount if you want the offset to be as perpendicular as possible.
the way things are looking i am going to hedge my bets and order one of these. Is that possible? I do not have a 3d printer
These are good improvements. I did have to adjust a bit to get the shim to the best spot.
