Hi, Can anyone help. We are looking at purchasing a Onefinfity x50 Cnc but I am unsure how it will go cutting Australian Hardwood. We will be creating 3d carvings in the wood so am looking for detail. We already have a large Cnc but I am looking for something that uses less power and capable of detailed carving. Has anyone had any experience with this type of wood or any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve not cut any Australian specific hardwoods with my machine but there are lots of guys on this forum using their machine to cut brass and aluminum and I’ve even seen a couple cut steel. The point of the story being, I don’t think any hardwoods are comparable in hardness to steel, even Australian ones!
As long as you are using high quality cutters and your feeds and speeds are correct for the material, you should have little issues.
