Do i need the controller or will a labtop do the same thing/ Newbie here looking for some help before i order.
you need a controller
The controller has special circuitry to control the motors.
It can be run from a laptop, but would still require drivers & break-out-board (which would not be plug-and-play), as well as advanced knowledge of how to hook it up.
