Hello all, this is my first post here ![]()
I’m gearing up to press buy on an Elite Woodworker with 2.2kw spindle. I’d love to get one of the larger models but my 1 car garage workshop is just too small.
I’m getting an electrician in to sort out the circuits. I live in the UK with a 230V power supply. I’m a total beginner when it comes to electrics so I would greatly appreciate any opinions on the suitability of my proposed setup:
16A CNC circuit
Powers Masso controller, CNC stepper motors, enclosure LED light strip, and webcam. Total power draw ~6A.
Wiring for this circuit should be physically separated from the spindle + dust extractor cables to avoid EMI.
20A Spindle circuit
Powers the 2.2kw Redline 220-240v spindle only. Total power draw ~9.6A.
20A Dust Extractor circuit
Powers a 3kw Record Power CamVac only. Total power draw ~13A.
I have various other circuits in my workshop powering other tools. All circuits will connect to a single consumer unit / fuseboard / breaker box.
I’m aware power requirement info is scattered around this forum however I found it difficult to piece together conclusively as someone living in the UK and unfamiliar with electrics. Hoping this post might help someone else in future.
If anyone can confirm this setup will work or suggest any improvements I would be super grateful!
