ERROR ** Sub program file not found **

Elite Foreman w/ ATC: I’ve got the ATC installed, and the programs to test tool changes all work well.

In VCarve Pro,
machine: Elite (Masso) Foreman default
Post processor: Onefinity Masso RapidChange ATC Arc (inches)

USB contains
my cut file: MASSO_USB/Horse Head/horse-head-carve.nc
subroutines: MASSO_USB/Subroutines

I try to load the carve, it says "ERROR ** Sub program file not found

In the carve file I see these lines:
N270 (Change to tool BnB - DNC250 - 1/4" Down-Cut Spiral - 425)
N280 M98 P631

And the Subroutines folder contains file 631.nc

So I am at a loss, and cant find anything in searching related to this issue.

Any ideas?

Mine do not have the ._ before the file name. I would remove the ._ and try again.

The files exist without the _ as well. thats just a file thing since Im using a Mac I think. Both files exist.

USB Directory:

the error

U need to put the individual subs in the same “horse-head” folder

Really? Is that documented anywhere?

I’m willing to give it a try, but that seems like a pain for every carve.

Yes, ATC manual page 77ish I think. I just read thru it last night.

lol, for real? which manual is that? I’ve looked through the rapidchange masso docs thoroughly and that doc shows them stored in a folder like “[profile name] Subroutines”

Found that here. Is there another manual I should be looking at?

We have manuals: https://www.onefinitycnc.com/support

Try moving your project files into the root directory for the USB drive.

A limitation of the Masso system is that it doesn’t have a “search path” to go find files in other directories so your project and the Subroutines folder need to be on the same level.

This is one of my little irritations with the ATC…I like to organize multiple projects on the thumb drive into folders so they’re easier to find but I got the error message you did unless my projects were in the root folder.

@jrecup @OnefinityCNC page 77, you were not kidding @jrecup

@CMcDaniel Yeah, It would be nice nice to just specify a location for all subroutines. Either masso auto searches the USB, or the location gets specified in the post processor.

I have tried listing the file in every folder available and it still says sub folder not found. i went back to the web UI and redownloaded and reexported the ATC operations, listed them to the main folder, and every other damned folder on the thumb drive, and it still says sub folder not found. I also have two emails to don at rapid change but no answer from him either. and i looked at page 77 and Istill don’t get it. Where do I put the carving file/toolpaths file, so it is with the subfolder/s? and will operate?

I am the slowest kid in the class so step by step please.
