I have a 1616 X Ball Screw and 1610 Y Ball Screws; Is this normal?

Hi, everyone,

I’ve been away for some time battling some unwelcome health issues. Fortunately all is well now and I am working on my projects again.

In getting my system set up on the latest firmware, I noticed my 1F Journeyman (non-Elite) has both 1610 and 1616 ball screws. I must leave the X motor to 16 revolutions per mm while the Y main motor must be set to 10 to get proper dimensions and movement.

Ideally I’d like to have the same precision all the way around; is there a way to have this addressed?

Ah, nvm; I found this posting from Oct. 2023. Sorry for the noise!

Pleased that your health issues have abated.

I’m just starting my “health issue” journey (atleast 3 months out of action) and i’m trying to write down notes noe on how i do things in order to reduce the “how did i do that” head scratching and reducing the barrier to returning. I find i soon forget what at the time are quite routine tasks.

Please tell me your health problem isn’t a triple coronary bypass. I just ( literally just) had one and am looking forward to getting back to making and saxophone playing much sooner than that.

Not so bad as that. Bowel Cancer and a herniated spin of some sort - from years of bad posture. Still modern medicine can do wonders these days and the big C word isnt as bad as it once was.

Glad to hear that Andy. Didn’t mean to digress this thread, just kinda top of mind at the moment.
