Is your router frame a parallelogram? Mine was!

So, that’s a good observation. Rhombus is really just for us X-50 Woodworker folks with square cutting areas. I was thinking only of my case. Back to our regularly scheduled program.

When I set mine up, I measured the distance back from the front edge of my table top to the front edge of the y rail mounting feet. I wasn’t even thinking of the parallelogram issue… something just sort of instinctually told me I should do that. When I checked for square it was within 1/32".

But certainly you would still get equal diagonal measurements even if it was a parallelogram… shifting a rail forward or backward lengthens one diagonal and shortens the other equal amounts.

Hey BPS Woodworks,

Surely not.

And if one is shorter and the other is longer, they are not equal, and the angles cease to be right angles.

Of course you’re absolutely right Aiph5u… I stand corrected. Should have thought before I typed!
