Just waiting on a Spindle now

I will post the plan soon. Husky 18" deep tool box. Changed out the wheels with adjustable levelors. It is attached to the wall with Redhead Concrete fastners. That concrete wall with the torsion box makes a pretty solid platform. Torsion box was 3/4" mdf top and bottom with a 2" thick grid inside.

The whole surface was witin .020", after i trammed the spindle i ran the table with a dial indicator to check for highs or lows. To get the table level i used a laser in the center of the table and shot at a starret square in all corners and shimmed and adjusted until it was as accurate as i could get it by eyeballing the square. Behind the husky is a Vacuum and a dust seperator. Also a water container for the Spindle. It is a tight fit to the wall, but i have no plans on tiling bigger jobs. This is just for fun. The bonus is the Masso pendant has a magnetic back so tool box is convenient for that.

My daughter has a sign business so i have access to a 5 x 10 Laguna with a Vacuum table and a 12hp Spindle and 10 tool ATC. I have used that to breakdown a large furniture project. But those days are behind me now. Not interested in tossing around 4x8 sheets of anything

Okay, this is in the DNA for sure then; way to go dad.

Although I’m sure that your daughter will get a kick of reminding you who has the bigger fancy CNC; fantastic btw. My daughter shows the desire to follow me around the shop so that little nugget was the best part of the post.

Yes, she is a chip off the old block for sure.

Her Cnc costs more than most houses. It has three heads, opto scout, tangential knife, and spindle. Two 20Hp motors for vac. Lots of noise around that beast.

Keep that little girl of yours around what you do and keep her safe, and she’ll soak it in like a sponge. I’m sure my little girl was paying attention.

That machine puts most of us to shame. LOLOL. As for my little monster, that is my honest hope. Amen to that! Keep me updated when you get it running. I’m entirely manually building so I’m staring with envy for now.

Three PDF with some details
of course you will have to adjust the size frt to back to however you intend to mount it. Mine was
bolted to a concrete wall.
Any leveling feet will do as long as you take into account the finished working height. I set mine to
counter height 36"
The top of the Husky tool box was screwed to the Torsion Box with wood screws . Just remove the
drawers to get acess.

I like the idea of anchoring to the wall. I have a concrete wall behind where mine will be setup, but I can’t decide if I am willing to commit to that location or not so I’ll probably still end up with four legs.

Go for the wall…it’s all about mass, and that wall will really stabilize everything.
