Hi there, I am currently waiting for my MASSO Elite upgrade. I have been reading all I can so I am ready when the shipment comes…
I have read when hooking up a dust collection to the MASSO, the documentation says it must be 12amp or lower. My dust collection system is 12amps.
My first question is, am I OK with hooking my 12amp dust collection to the MASSO, or am I pushing the limits and asking for trouble.
My second question, if it is OK to connect my dust collection to the MASSO… can I only use the dust collection for other tools if I either unplug the dust collection from the MASSO unit or turn on the MASSO unit and start the dust collection from the MASSO touch screen?
Just curious how others have their MASSO units configured for this.
Yes, I did see that if you were over 12A, you would have to use a relay. What threw me was, while watching one of the Onefinity videos for connecting items to the Masso… they showed images of vacuums that were acceptable and ones that were not. Just so happens that mine looks like one from the unacceptable side as highlighted in red.
Thanks for the photo Craig!
My dust Collector looks like it falls in the X group.
I setup a Dust Right 650 dust collector. It to is at 12 amps. It hangs on the wall at the back end of the table. To turn it on manually each time would be a pain. I have a remote start on/off plugged between the wall plug and the motor. Would like to find one that is triggered by the Masso.
You can setup a relay to control your dust collector from your MASSO. It’s relatively cheap and easy to do and works great! I have a Jet RC 1100 dust collector. Here is what I bought from Amazon to set mine up. Digital Loggers Iot relay $36, 22 Gauge 2 Conductor Electrical Wire 32 ft $10, and a Alitove DC 12v 5amp power supply adapter converter $12. The power supply adapter is what gets plugged into the vacuum power on back of the Elite power supply.
