Masso tool Data entry question

I just am trying to verify something regarding loading tools into the Masso gen 1 tool data page. I am using Vectric as my CAD software (I don’t have an ATC). From what I am reading I do not need to enter the tool diameters into the Masso tool data in the F4 screen. I just have to make sure the tool numbers match both in the software and the F4 tool data. Is that correct?

You dont HAVE to enter any tool information in the F4 screen if you dont want to, which also means that the information in Vectric doesnt have to match whats in your F4.

Is there something specific you are trying to figure out how to do with multiple tools or just trying to get the most out of your machine?

You don’t need to, but you might want to regardless.

I’ve gone through the trouble of syncing the tool database in CAM, with the Masso library. The benefit is that Masso now reads out the tool description it has installed on screen. It’s also nice to look through the library on Masso and verify you have the right tools out in front of you.

I keep my library largely the same. If you switch tools frequently I recommend not syncing the two, as it’s just likely to cause mixups and issues.

Thank you. I appreciate the help.

Thank you I appreciate your help.

I have usually entered all the info I could but entering the tapered ball noses always mess me up.
It does help to have the tool info come up on the screen just before I start a file. I’ve caught a couple of mistakes that saved my projects that way.

Still using your warm up file anytime I crank up my machine. Thanks for that too.
