I’ve been using the Rowdy Roman hose boom and generally like it, but found that my vacuum hose would often contact and discharge static electricity into my spindle, resulting in small z-axis drops on long carves. I made a simple stand-off that works well. It’s a series of plywood donuts stacked on the support with a shaped piece of plywood on top. Haven’t had a problem since I started using it.

At first I was a little confused as to how your work around averted static problems until it dawned on me you are simply increasing the air gap between the flex hose and spindle housing.
I like your KISS approach!
