New to CNC/Buildbotics?

Hi Onefinity CNC peoples. My name is Brian I tried CNC Milling back in 2014 I jumped straight into a full scale aircraft propeller. It actually came out pretty nicely but I haven’t done CNC since.

I recently purchased a little CNC off of Facebook Marketplace. It’s a 300-500w spindle on a little 3060 CNC Zone/Generic motion system/table with a Buildbotics Controller.

From what I understand Buildbotics controller are used for OneFinity machines. I was told to join and post here as the most active place for information/help if I have questions.

I haven’t started my machine yet. I’m looking at the software CNC Tool Path Generation at the moment. I have both Fusion and FreeCAD which can both do CAM but I’m wanting to use KiriMoto.

Anything to consider/that I need to know I’d like to hear.

Im really looking forward to making cool stuff and have all sorts of projects in mind already

Onefinity Machines use 3 different controllers: BB Buildbotics, Masso, and the New @Redlinecnc Controller.

Being new to the forum I didn’t know the best place to post. Could you move this to the General Buildbotics Controller section in order that I may get as much exposure as possible and it be in the appropriate place.

I tried to figure that out on my own but didn’t see such a category.

If you weren’t already aware, the buildbotics controller is its own project and has its own forum here (and website here) that you might also find helpful. The onefinity “BB” controller is based on an old version of the open source buildbotics controller, so if you figure out which one you have, you’ll know where to get the most relevant advice.

Thanks onefinity leader and xenith I did actually join the Buildbotics Forum too.

It doesn’t seem very active and I think it was there that someone said onefinity guys may be more helpful/active, pointing me this direction.

Honestly I’m not certain yet what controller version I have as I haven’t even fired it up yet or anything. I’ll look into figuring that out though.
