OF jtech 24w laser estimated times much longer than Lightburn says

Any gcode/project I create in lightburn takes much longer actual time on my OF. Just created a 9 x 7 detailed board carve that said 37min in LB but once uploaded was 2h 10min. Anyone know what might be wrong or is that the way it is?

That’s because you need to edit the generic settings it puts in to your specific machine.

I think all my settings are the same as your pic…

Figured I would add basic settings too

Enable whitespace scan, it will speed your machine up when traversing the open areas.

Have you also upped your speeds and accel on the onefinity side of things? The default settings are extremely conservative.

Still, for 9x7, 2 hours+ is a long time. Consider decreasing the lines per inch, possibly substantially. There is a high likelihood the difference will be unnoticeable or it may improve the project due to less charring. If you haven’t used the test grid generator yet i highly recommend it and test against speed, lpi, and power.

I will try that. Thank you

I had the same experience (along with other issues) with my 7W laser when I initially set it up. @Woodworking_Pilot shared his settings with me on this post:

After I made the adjustments, my actual burn time has been very close to the simulation time. Currently I have the 24W. I am using the same settings (as posted in the attached link) and my simulation times are pretty close to the actual time.
