ok cool now see that makes sence to me putting the prob at the top, because i have pleanty of space to stay away from the top edge. sorry if you said that earleir i really did miss it. I will try that now. Thanks again.
how do i change to prob position as it is preset for the front left will now let me do the far left
Hey Troy,
on the Buildbotics-derived Onefinity CNC Controller, top front left corner is “hardcoded” in software and cannot be changed. Someone in the forum posted additional scripts to also use all the other corners. Triquetra (the touch plate manufacturer) offers a windoze software for this.
But you can also simply manually set X,Y,Z Zero on the Onefinity CNC. You position your router/bit manually by jogging with the gamepad, by clicking the arrow fields on the control pane, or by entering movement commands into the MDI, to move it to the wanted zero coordinate (e.g. be it top rear right corner), and then by clicking the “pin” icon on CONTROL page, either for one axis, or for all X,Y,Z axes at the same time, the workpiece zero is set manually. And you’re done with manually setting zero.
Or you buy another CNC controller. The Masso allows probing from very different positions, inside pockets and such.
yeah that is what i did earlier today on the second attempt and it did work. Prob being my roughing pass i did the prob way, and then the detail i did the manual way. so it was off when i carved which i knew it would was just working out issues. i will redo the carve and just manually do the entire thing. thanks again for your help.
