I have ordered a Gen2 Elite and a Redline HDI. I also have an 8-port Rapid Atc that needs to be wired. Can I use this with a Redline HDI. Is this possible?
The ones we sell can be used and can link up multiples.
Can I use the rapid atc sold by Rapid atc with the Hdi?
I’m sure you can, but Onefinity will tell you they don’t support anything but their version. I would talk to RealTime CNC and Rapid Change directly.
@wimmdesigns Our current implementation of the RapidChange ATC supports up to 4 magazines with 4 slots each. The cool part is our software doesn’t actually care where the slots are physically located. You can assign each slot independently, if necessary.
In your case, you would assign the first four slots in “ATC1” and the second four slots in “ATC2”. You also use the ATC setup wizard. Use the wizard to set up the first four slots on ATC1 and then use the wizard again on ATC2 to set up the second four slots.
RapidChange has the collet detection sensor wired in parallel for all the slots, so you would wire it into Input 0 of our controller and select Input 0 for both ATC1 and ATC2.
If you have an ATC magazine with a dust cover, I would recommend connecting it to either Output 3 or Output 4 and then modifying your post processor to activate the output before a tool change (open the dust cover) and deactivate it after the tool change (close the dust cover).
Let me know if that answers your questions. You can also reach us directly at support@realtimecnc.com
Thank you. I will this will save me having to sell this atc.
