Redline Spindle Squeal- Problem potentially solved

So I have been having an issue with the bearing noise ( See previous video posted)
I think I may have come across a solution accidentally
So I was doing a manual warm up following the new slow start sequence at 500 rpm and I got called away.
Well I left it on at 500 rpm for an hour ( no squealing)
I slowly turned it up to 1000 rpm for 5 minutes (still no squealing)
Then every 5 minutes I slowly doubled the speed 2000 , 4000 8000 16000 (no squealing)
I maxed out at 20000 rpm and ran it for an hour
Not a peep out of the spindle
So my question to all you gcode wizards
How do I duplicate this in a program that performs the same sequence but slowly increasing the rpm between speeds?

I was just breaking in a 2.2Kw spindle last night, so the answer your g-code question, Redline have a link to a break in g-code file you can download from their site: https://www.redlinecnc.com/files

The syntax is incredibly straight forward and you’ll have absolutely no problem throwing that into a text editor and modifying it to meet your requirements, then loading it up to rock-n-roll.

Cheers.

The redline controller has a “bacon button” that automatically runs the warm up! No code needed!

Hopefully the link I sent previously still helps as Redline has posted their warm-up g-code and break-in g-code for both the Redline HMI and MASSO on the same page.

I haven’t looked at the MASSO code as I have a Redline controller, but unless it’s significantly more complex then hopefully it will still have some value to you.

I believe you can load whatever warm up g-code file you end up with into a Macro on the MASSO. I do not know how to do that I think the topic has shown up in the forum in the past, or perhaps that was a YouTube video I ran into.

Cheers

That’s great to hear!

Where is it? My Elite WW will be here in two days.

The bacon button is on the Spindle tab off the Main screen. About halfway up on the right side. It’s 3 wavy lines.
