I’m trying to decide between the 1.5 and 2.2 spindles. It looks like they both are rated at 10 amps. What’s the difference I’m power consumption in these spindles?

The 80mm spindles will probably have more torque since there’s more room for motor windings. On 110v, the stated power difference is probably meaningless.
The 1.5 is 120V (12.5 amp) and the 2.2 is 220V (10amp)
1.5kw spindle cutting for 1 hour will cost approx 25 cents per hour A 2.2kw spindle cutting for 1 hour will cost 37.5 cents per hour. These figures will very based on load (what you are cutting) and the electrical rate and time of day you use electricity and your local rate. But this will give you an idea of cost. Also 2.2KW will need a 220V plug installed in your shop.
Hope this gives you an idea of relative costs.
(The average electricity rate is USA is 16 cents per KW hour. So 1.5kw x $0.16= $0.25)
