Now if only the dust outlet where you attach the actual 2.5 inch hose would fit inside that 2.5 inch hose we would all breathe easier. However, the outlet measures 2.67 Inches and my vacuum hose will not stretch over it or so I have been told. So, it is a good thing I also have a metal cutting lathe. I’ll be busy this weekend.
Not sure if it helps, as I do not have or use a Suckit SM, but I wanted to use a larger hose with my CNC setup and Fein Turbo II vacuum. I bought the hose from an online seller as well as 2 Powertec screw end quick couplers (#70191) for each end.
After designing and building a new dust shoe system for my machine, I needed one new adapter, and was able to model threads in Fusion for a custom screw in hose adapter.
My thoughts are that perhaps the Powertec adapters might fit inside the Suckit SM outlet, or, I could share or even model for you (and others) a new adapter that screws into the 2 1/2" hose but fits over the dust shoe outlet and not inside the the Powertec.
Wait so the dust boot doesn’t work with 2.5” hoses so you modeled up a solution for it, sent it to Onefinity, and now Onefinity will be selling it or including it with the dust boot?
Oh it works, but not with some 2.5 inch hoses according to several folks on the forum. The one tm has modeled should work with all of the 2.5 hoses. I just made my own. based on the dimension’s folks gave, it should work fine and is just a piece of 2-inch PVC turned down to 2.301 on one end and that end will go into the sm suckit dust boot as a friction fit, not nearly as sexy as what tmtoronto has designed. but quick and cheap, and you can make it without a 3d printer.
