Table dimensions

Can someone tell me the minimum table dimensions for an elite 48 x 48

I built my table to a 72" x 72" size. The manual shows the minimal dimensions of 63.3" x 61.849". I would suggest adding 6" to each of those measurement to give you a 3" margin around your machine. I figured my minimum size as 69.3" x 66.849". I then rounded up to a 72" x 72". If I were to rebuild my table it might be 72" x 66" or 72" x 67", but not much smaller.

Dirk thank you for your help.

Dirk, I too have designed my table 72x72 here it is. Would you suggest I go smaller?

Nice design, good job on the 3D modelling.

I see you have nice drawers that are shorter than the openings. I presume this is to get your fingers in there to open the drawer?
I recommend closing those gaps, and putting on a drawer pull of some kind instead. The gaps will let in a lot more dust and debris than you think. I have a tool chest in mine, and when the drawers are even slightly open, dust makes it’s way into the drawers.

There looks to be 6" or so below the table. This area will also fill with dust and debris and put you on your hands and knees to sweep or blow compressed air to clean it out. I recommend putting a “skirt” of some kind so chips and debris don’t go under the table.

Thanks for the help and suggestions! I am actually going to put drawer faces on them. Inch gap between the drawers for a 1/2 inch overhang on each? This was my very first modeling, just you tube’d my way through how to do it. The whole thing is parametric so I can change anything I want. I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks Hahaha.

Diane,

If you have the shop space, stay with this size. I doubt you would regret the extra 6 to 8 inches. I love your use of the space underneath for storage. That will be super useful as you work with your new CNC.

Hi Dirk. So you still sticking to the 72"x67" size decision. Also, do you center the machine on the table or is it setup in a specific location. If you have a photo of your unit, that will be great. Just about to build my top on a Kreg 64x64 legs.
