Trigger Solid state relay with Redline Spindle

Buildbotics controller, X50 journeyman, Redline spindle. Is it possible to trigger my Vac solid state relay? I have a passthrough breakout board so that I can still use my external E-Stops and Vac relay but enabling Pin 15 on the tool menu does not trigger the relay to operate. the Redline VFD does not have any place for the vac. I have tried HI-LOW and LO-HI and neither seems to work.

I sent this question to Onefinity support, and their answer was a simple no you cannot control dust collection on buildbotics with Redline spindle. Wish I would have known sooner I would have gone a different route.

Hi Rob – you probably can if you add extra hardware. Need a current sensor on the spindle line and use that to trigger the vac. That said, I thought the BB controller could trigger an “IOT receptacle”? I know I saw something about that way back when the OF launched like 5 years ago.

Hi, Yes you can, and I have been for the last three years with the Makita Router, but I just upgraded to the Redline and it no longer works. According to support you cannot trigger off of pin 15 with the Redline Maybe I will try off of Load 1 or Load 2 and change the post processor to trigger the load.
