UI Setting to Disable Internal WiFi

This has been partially covered in the topic called "Support for USB network adaptors (Feature Unavailable). To rephrase the request:

Could a setting be added in the user interface settings screen to “Disable Internal WIFI” (disable wlan0)? This would be useful if more folks buy USB WiFi dongle adaptors to improve connectivity. Some have tried it in this forum with success (wlan1 overrides wlan0 automatically) while others haven’t. This shouldn’t require rewriting lots of code to account for every different kind of adapter as suggested earlier in that topic.

Hey Allen,

Not sure if this will solve your problem, but if I remember correctly, you can disable the wifi via the menu.

  1. Go to the flyout menu. Top-left of the screen.
  2. Admin. Then network.
  3. You should be able to change the wifi modes to either Disabled, Client or AP.
  4. Save. It will ask you to reboot.

When I have access to the machine again, I will double-check if this is available. I’m running V1.0.7 iirc.

Nice, I will check into this. Thanks for the heads-up!
