Would you use a common round nose bit for a wave texture? Or would you use a ball nosed bit? Or either would work as long as VCarve knows which bit you’re using to cut a wavy texture?
You can program Vcarve to do whatever you like… then you can put another/ different bit in the spindle… the spindle doesn’t know…
For example, I program a 60 degree bit in Vcarve, and use a 30 degree bit in the spindle… the result is different but exactly what I want…
Best to do a test run before you do the real thing…
Lots of test runs on their computer and then the scrap MDF. I’m new but am learning that pretty quickly. Thanks Bear.

I did these test runs the other day to get the jobs… did it with pine and a 60 degree V bit… Pine breaks up, but it will be fine on hardwood…
Cool half-tone type stuff! Yeah, I like! I’m hoping to do some screen print/mezzo print stuff after I understand how to make my half-time maps. Being a graphic design guy in print, I actually kind of remember how cool that type of stuff is… Looking good Bear!
