Z Axis Troubleshooting help

Intermittently during startup of my Elite Foreman (w/stiffy and Redline spindle) when I set the emergency stop and release it the Z axis shoots down about an inch very suddenly and loudly. It will then give me a Z axis error and cycling the emergency stop continues to do this and eventually it will bottom out.

I am unable to home it since it generates a z axis error. This has happened a number of times and the only resolution is to restart the machine multiple times until it stops.

Ive double checked all of the wires are seated properly and have tried reseating them all as well. It cant be static discharge as this occurs when the machine isnt even using dust collection or in some cases hasnt been turned on in an extended period (over a week).

Has anyone else run into this?

Edit: I haven’t wanted to bother the official Onefinity support email since its intermittent and I cant always replicate it.

It’s mentioned under this post try here

Thanks for the heads up Ken, seems like it might be a common “bug” hopefully something changes with that
