9/16 Roughing bits

I got a 9/16 roughing bit with 1/2” diameter shank 4 flute bit. Was used for cutting aluminum. Has anyone used roughing tools this size and if so on a foreman elite?
Also wondering speeds and feeds.
Thanks.

I have cut aluminum on my onefinity o flute .250 bit and it is not great at it. It spins so much faster than a milling machine which I also have. I recently had to cut some aluminum ( only about a hundred more pieces to go) I tried a two flute 1/2 inch endmill at 15oo rpms and a slow feed. it chattered a bit but it did work but then i changed it to about 570 rpms and a four flute endmill and it cut like butter. slower rpms is a lot better. at least that is my experience oh and the depth of cut was .125. I do not think you can get any spindle to go that slow. the main problem with cutting aluminum on a cnc is heat buildup. it melts the aluminum and gums up the bit. so theoretically a bigger endmill would work longer than a thin one before it heated up. also, a mister or pure air nozzle aimed right at the bit will help. I still need to try that as I need my new onefinity elite to cut some aluminum in the near future.
