Tom you sound like you’re on the Pinellas Peninsula. St Peter Clearwater area. I grew up in Pinellas Park. Sister still live down there by the Trop.

What can help with temperature swings is having a small fan keep moving the air around. A 20" box fan on low works well too.
The reason for this is that it helps the metals keep pace with the air temp. I have lived in all sorts of places with wide temp swings accompanied by high humidity and this has worked well for me. I do not have any rusty tools after 35 years.

Great idea, I usually have a fan in the garage just to keep air moving anyway.
