I’m trying to find out where is the best place to mount my ATC when it gets here wondering the pros and cons of the different places front, side and rear?? Has anyone got any helpful insights from dealing with the different placements?
No matter where, you will lose cutting area and the possibility of ‘over hanging / tiling’ if you go front or back. (side tiling is already limited by the rails.)
I went right side along Y axis, but now think maybe left side would have been better, as that would have lowered the travel distance on bit change (assuming you 0 at the front left)
Going in the back forces a lot of travel on bit changes.
I’m sure others have other opinions…
Concur, I find the front or right side more convenient for cleaning and changing bits. Currently using front.
