Attaching the redline VFD to your table

so this seems simple but there is nothing to attach it to the table with. no angle brackets no obvious holes to insert screws. nothing on any videos I have watched. Also no owners manual but I am used to that it is probably online.

Some guy in the Facebook forum made a mount for it - I’ll see if I can find the link

Yes the manual is online like most significant electronic products today. I like the online version because it can be kept up to date as changes and errors can be corrected. I didn’t like the table mounted setup because I didn’t want to suck up any debris etc. into the VFD. I opted for the undermount version and am entirely happy with that. It’s easily removable and the most clean environment and likely more cooling efficient.

It comes with whatever you chose at purchase. Either wall, desk, or under table mounts. Instructions for each are in the manual. Link to the manual was emailed from info@ when the order shipped.

I know but i did not realize that table mount was simply, sit it on the table, no attachment whatsoever. seems rather precarious for a table that has to occasionally move.

Oh, damn. I just looked at the desktop mount in the manual again and I see what you mean now. There’s really no way to screw it down. You would have to use brackets or something as you suggested.

I looked at all 3 options in the manual before deciding on under table for mine and had not caught on to that little catch 22 of not being able to fix it to the desktop. Glad I went with door #3.

Like you said, I don’t like the idea of it just sitting on the table like a box. That just seems like an invitation for a problem.

Hardtail seems like he would be able to fab something to address the issue, but heads up for anyone else who reads this and opted for desktop.

Yeah i figured you wpuld have some aluminimum sitting around that would fit the bil.

Got mine mounted with the under table mount. Also not what I expected.
It scared me for a second that its just held in by gravity and 2 shallow detents. But once mounted I see that I can bump into it and it just swings a bit. You have to lift while pulling toward you to actually unseat it.

Yes it moves when operating the power button. I didn’t like that. I put a small length of wood dowel across both slots and it tightened the whole assembly from moving.

WHO ARE THESE ENGINEERS ANYWAY? REMINDS ME OF THE COMMITEE DESIGNED HORSE. weird that we have to come up with common sense fixes nearly every time we get a product. maybe we are being too hard on them as these are new products. But it seems weird that it is nearly every product we pay good money for has some simple to fix flaw that should have been spotted at the first or second engineering meeting..
