Ball nut cleaning issue

Hi Everyone,

I cleaned my Y axis ball nuts and oiled them today

. Though when I was trying to reassemble them, I ran into an issue. There is a little less than 1/8 gap between the B1 axis ball nut and the gantry.

I realized after the fact that I didn’t remove the X axis to work on each Y axis independently like in the maintenance video.

So…. What’s the easiest way to get rid of this gap? Remove the entire X axis? Remove the stepper on the B axis so I can spin the ball rod?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Did you try turning the ball screw by hand while holding the ball screw nut? With power off it will turn easily, and the nut should snug up to the aluminum block. You would need to install the mounting screws last, after the nut flange has hit the block.

No. The power was on. I’ll give it a shot. Thanks!
