Bearings and grub screws loose on assembly

Hi,

I assembled my QCW for my Elite Forman. Everything went great. I then watched this YouTube video" Onefinity CNC GEN 2 Elite Series Assembly & Installation with ‪@RedlineCNCOfficial‬ HMI 15" Screen"

I installed all of the rails, placed one bolt in the left and right so that I could start doing my adjustment, to prevent them being like a trapezoid or parallelogram. Just like the video, I installed a few in the z rail and started pushing it. The bearing went flying out of the Y-2 top rail. … After some research, it turns out the the grub screws were all loose and almost falling out. I checked all of the grub screws on the entire machine. I found about half of the grub screws very loose. I replaced the bearing and snugged them all up. It is not super easy to push the z rail all of the way forward and back to adjust it. I realize that when I push it, the ball screws are also turning and the bearings are making a suction like noise, so it will have some resistance… I guess this is normal? … I just don’t want to damage the motors.

Hopefully you were able to talk with tech support and get any issues resolved? When adjusting the grub screws in the main shaft linear bearings just take care not too over tighten.

Thanks for asking! — I watched some videos and checked all of the grub screws on the entire machine. The machine is now assembled and everything is working so far.

After reading this, while everything is fine, this makes me want to check mine also. Are there instructions/links to what to check? Appreciated!

Each Bearing has some grub screws. A tiny Allen wrench will tighten or loosen them. Stick the Allen wrench in each one of them and snug them up… Just snug them. Don’t crank on them or you will lock up your bearings and machine. Go over the entire machine and look at every bearing. You will see the tiny holes that contain the grub screws. Some bearings may have 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom. Some may have 3.
