So I was practicing making what I call a poor man’s dovetail joint and got some unexpected motion during the cutting of the female portion
Most cut as expected which was to make a pass then drop Z to pass depth and repeat
2 slots would return to Z clearance then drop Z to pass depth and repeated
Any idea why this would happen?
All slots were just a copy of the previous
File was created in Vcarve 11.5
I found the problem the ramp plunge moves was selected for some reason I unchecked the box and recalculate the tool path and no more unnecessary bit retraction during the pocket cutting
