Finally have my Elite on order. Only have room for the 32x32 Woodworker but I think that’s about all I need for any guitar stuff I’ll be doing. It’s 10-12 weeks before they can even ship it so I will be working on this table design I modeled up in the meantime. I think I have everything mounted in a good spot. I will have some PVC pipe runs to have cables from the VFD to the controller just to keep it clean and tidy. I plan on these removable router bit storage bins so I can keep all my bits in one place and move around to my router tables when needed. Cheaper and easier than building drawers and cabinets. Over all will be 48x48. Feeling happy at Mackay GTRS Mackay GTRS
Post often when you’re up and running! A goal of mine with my 1F has always been to make a guitar
Wow, an inspiration.
The only thing I might consider differently is to add some blocks under the rail mounts so they are level with the spoil board. This will give you some additional height capabilities in the event you ever wanted to do something taller.
I find it interesting that your spoil board isn’t supported on the bottom side except for at the ends. If you are using MDF then I would expect to see some sagging over time. This will raise havoc with your bed leveling.
Thanks for the input.
I will be using the QCW frame so my spoilboard sections will be sitting on the QCW longitudinal channels. I added 3 extra t-tracks in this model which will be added in-between the 8 3/4" wide inserts that I’ll need to make. I plan to add another piece of MDF under those pieces since I am routing out some for the extra t-track. So the three center 8 3/4" wide pieces will be 1-1/2" thk, if that makes sense.
I don’t think I can add any blocks since I will be using the QCW frame as my spoilboard will be attached to it.
