CAD/CAM Software for ipads

I will jump on the Shapr3D bandwagon here - I use both the desktop and the iPad app (since I started with the iPad version I find it a little easier at the moment). I have only used it for STL files for my 3d printer but I see no reason you couldn’t import those into VCarve (or Easel Pro, which I use) and throw them on the 1F.
Shapr3D is expensive, but it does allow you to create on the iPad, which Fusion360 does not.

This is definitely possible. I was just searching for something that would allow to go from: Idea-CAD-CAM-1F all on one device. Also on a device that I can have in the small dusty shop.

Right now on the PC I can do this but still have to run to and from the shop if I need to make any corrections(there’s always something, measure twice/cut twice in my case ).

And as mentioned before, I would be living the dream if I could have a project ready to carve by the time I get home and don’t have to take the extra step to import files to vcarve. I understand there are windows devices that would work for this but the cash just isn’t there so I’m trying find a way to do this with the equipment on hand.

Its very likely that I’m this won’t be possible until a piece of software is built for IOS. I’ll try to find a way but am never afraid to ask for help when I get stuck.

Gotcha. I actually have a Mac in my shop so I can run Easel Pro and the 1F Web interface side-by-side. Still a pain to have to download the multiple G-code files and then move them to Dropbox to access them from the 1F Controller - I haven’t figured out how to streamline that yet. Would love to hear if anyone has.

By the way, Tinkercad is a no-cost alternative to Shapr3D - not nearly as polished but serviceable.

I found that using the pc to control the 1F works great because the file are already saved on that controlling device. But thats pointless when the pc can’t be in the shop. So I went back to a usb drive and the 1F controller for the. With the upgraded wifi I can now send the files without using a usb drive which is great too.

I guess I could build some sort enclosure for the PC so it can stay out there but thats a solution to completely different issue. haha

I’ll check out Tinkercad! thanks.

Behold! 20th Century solutions.

Check out OnShape. It is could based and all you need is a browser. I usually use my computer, but I’ve actually done a few things on my phone. It’s free if you don’t mind all your files being public. If you want your files to be secure then you need to purchase a subscription.

SketchUp works great on iPad! Not sure if it will then allow the transfer to a post processing software program
